Archive Label 2003: Mrs. Jean Green, a long-time student and scholar of Chinese art and supporter of regional arts organizations, offered this candlestick to the museum. Since the Spencer has a large collection of nineteenth and early twentieth century glass, of which this is an excellent example, the curatorial committee accepted the candlestick with enthusiasm. The symmetry of the candlestick and the teardrop form in the stem exemplify the fine work of Steuben glass. SUnited Statesn Earle, Joe Lampo
