Exhibition Label: "Cabinets of Curiosity: Musing About Collections," Jun-2006, Joseph Keehn and Madeline Rislow Like Wenceslaus Hollar, also exhibited, de Bry was a prolific printmaker whose total output embraces many thematic areas. These engraved designs of knife handles were probably elaborate ideas for silversmiths rather than images of actual knife handles. Examples of knife handles collected by Mrs. Thayer are also exhibited here.
