With a large workforce assembled and the city firmly behind them, the Wichita aviation industry was successful even during the Depression, and led to the city’s profitable standing as “The Air Capital” by the 1940s. Seward honors Wichita’s soaring success in this etching, which Stearman Aircraft commissioned as their Christmas gift print.
