Exhibition Label: "Trees & Other Ramifications: Branches in Nature & Culture," Mar-2009, Steve Goddard Donald Resnick loved to find himself surrounded by trees while walking in the Maine woods. He often worked on his drawings and drypoint prints directly in these outdoor settings, rather than in the studio. While it is hard to identify specific trees in these works, they probably include some of the evergreen trees specified as native to the area by the Maine Extension Service: Balsam Fir (Abies balsamea), White Spruce, Cat Spruce (Picea glauca), Black Spruce (Picea mariana), Jack Pine (Pinus banksiana), Red Pine (Pinus roseata), Norway Pine (Pinus resinosa), and White Pine (Pinus strobus).
