Intersections
Like many Pueblo artists, Maria Martinez worked with her family and transmitted her artistic skills and knowledge to subsequent generations, many of whom are represented in this case. Her original collaborator was her husband Julian Martinez. Their division of labor was fairly fixed: Maria shaped and burnished the pieces and Julian painted the surface designs.
