These moccasins have also been attributed to the Southern Cheyenne. The long fringes and circular emblem on the tongue, as well as the fine lines of beadwork and projecting sole suggest that they could also be Kiowa. the extraordinary number of forced migrations of Eastern and Western Indian Nations resulted in extensive exchange of design ideas. Without specific provenance, which is often extremely difficult to acquire, the origin of objects is often uncertain.
