Illumination

Diné (Navajo) sand paintings are made using dry sand that is colored using natural pigments and lightly sprinkled onto a board or another surface. Temporary in nature, sand paintings are known and created for their healing and restorative powers. This particular design portraying the sun and eagle was used for healing an unwell child.
