Artists from Côte d'Ivoire commonly include pictures of animals on their textiles. There are a variety of animals in this work of art. The large cat is probably a lion or cheetah. The mane would be found on lions, but cheetahs have spots. The three large birds could be ostrichs or hornbills. The artist has also included a crocodile and a fish. Sometimes these groupings of animals are hunting scenes, but it is not clear whether this is a hunting scene.
