Exhibition Label: "Passages: Persistent Visions of a Native Place," Sep-2011, Nancy Mahaney This fine example of a contemporary fur turban might have been crafted for use in a pow-wow as part of the men’s straight dance regalia or for use at other ceremonial events. The beaded medallions include several designs, but retain the predominantly red and blue color scheme common in traditional Osage clothing.
