This sandpainting is commonly called Earth and Sky. The Sky, oriented toward the north usually has the Mily Way on the chest, while the Earth, oriented towards the south generally has crops such as corn, beans, squash, and tobacco on its chest. Surrounding the Earth and Sky is a rainbow guardian opened to the east for the exchange of good and evil with the world outside. A bat and the "suns' tobacco pouch" are also considered guardians.
