Exhibition Label: “Big Shots: Andy Warhol, Celebrity Culture and the 1980s,” Aug-2009, Susan Earle This set of five Polaroids portrays photographer Linda Cossey plus her camera, which looks to be a large portrait camera similar to the Big Shot that Warhol used for his portrait sessions. Either Cossey or Warhol, or both, must have been fascinated by the camera, judging by its prominence in these photographs. However, in the 40 x 40-inch portrait on canvas of Cossey that was the final result of this photo shoot, Warhol dropped the camera’s image.
