Exhibition Label: “Big Shots: Andy Warhol, Celebrity Culture and the 1980s,” Aug-2009, Susan Earle Joan Collins was one of the most celebrated television stars of the 1980s, known especially for her role as Alexis in the TV show Dynasty. In 1985, the year that Warhol created her portrait seen here, Dynasty was the top-rated TV show in the United States. Of English origin and also an author, Collins won a Golden Globe award in 1983.
