Exhibition Label: “Big Shots: Andy Warhol, Celebrity Culture and the 1980s,” Aug-2009, Susan Earle Apparently dubbed by Warhol as “the jet-setter,” Carmen D’Alessio was one of the founders of Studio 54. Also a public-relations representative for fashion designer Valentino, D’Alessio was herself a celebrity and knew hundreds of celebrities, which was key to the success of Studio 54. One of her many triumphs was bringing Bianca Jagger into the club riding a white horse for her 27th birthday party on May 2, 1977.
