Exhibition Label: “Big Shots: Andy Warhol, Celebrity Culture and the 1980s,” Aug-2009, Susan Earle David Yarritu, shown here without a shirt in each photograph, is a former member of the 1980s British New Wave band ABC. The only American in the group, Yarritu was hired for his looks onstage and in videos; he did not sing or play music. ABC was one of the more popular New Wave bands in the early 1980s, and they had several synthesizer-driven, dance-pop hits. Today Yarritu is a freelance photographer based in New York City.
