Exhibition Label: “Big Shots: Andy Warhol, Celebrity Culture and the 1980s,” Aug-2009, Susan Earle Seated on the right in this photograph, André Leon Talley is American editor-at-large for Vogue magazine. A fashion fixture known for mentoring young talents, he worked closely with Vogue editor Anna Wintour and Diana Vreeland, a fashion legend and Warhol associate. He is currently friends with tennis star Venus Williams, and he advised Michelle Obama on fashion questions during the 2008 presidential campaign. He is known for being an influential, out gay man on the celebrity circuit.
