Pots are described in a similar way to the human body, with bellies, mouths, and navels; the decoration at the top is called a necklace. The form and decoration of the pots does not necessarily dictate how the pot will be used, and in some cases the pot’s function may change from utilitarian to ceremonial as occasions arise.
