Exhibition Label: “C.A. Seward: Artist and Draftsman,” Feb-2010, Kate Meyer Although most local viewers may associate Blue Valley with the Johnson County school district or the Kansas City stream, the Big Blue River is also a tributary that meets the Kansas (Kaw) River near Manhattan, Kansas. Records indicate this barn was sketched northwest of Manhattan, which may place it in the region that was deliberately flooded to produce Tuttle Creek Damn and Reservoir in response to the 1951 flood.
