Label texts

Archive Label 1999:
The bold decoration of this plate, with its parallel wavy lines and stylized plant motif, is typical of the better redware pieces from this period. Redware was the primary tableware used in many communities in the United States until it was replaced by European imports in the second half of the 19th century.
