Exhibition Label: Teaching Gallery, Nov-2012, Tasha Dare This fragment may have been a border on a tunic, curtain, or other furnishing textile. It is often difficult to distinguish between Coptic and early Islamic textiles since weaving methods and designs were similar after the eighth century. As a result, this fragment may have been created in the early Islamic Dynasty in Egypt by Copts for an Islamic leader.
