Exhibition Label: "A Kansas Arts Sampler," Oct-2004, Kate Meyer Dickerson made several prints for the Works Progress Administration that offer non-glamorized views of his Wichita hometown in which symbols of transportation, communication, and agriculture dominate. Broad sweeps of the lithographic crayon help capture the cloudy skies and railroad ties, giving the work a sense of dingy modernity and uncompromising authenticity.
