A professor of art at the University of Wisconsin and a Wisconsin native, Lowe works in a variety of natural materials to make monumental sculpture that evokes the natural world and his American Indian heritage. He has taught at Emporia State University, is a curator at the National Museum of the American Indian, and was one of the artists included in the sculpture display on the White House lawn in 1999.
