After the dedication of the newly built shrine in which the trophy helmet has been placed, Moronao attempts to give Lady Kawayo a love letter. This is witnessed by Wakasa, who reproves Moronao for making advances towards another man's wife. Angered by this reprimand Moronao later insults Wakasa in public. Here Toyokuni has depicted these two separate scenes on a single sheet: Wakasa, Moronao and Lady Kawayo each appear twice.
