Exhibition Label: Installation related to "Tokyo: The Imperial Capital Woodblock prints by Koizumi Kishio, 1928-1940," Feb-2005, Hillary Pedersen In this simplified, almost abstract print, the upper portion of the Kinryūzan temple’s five-story pagoda is partially hidden by the snow-laden trees; small bell-shaped windchimes hang from the upswept corners of the multiple roofs. This print is a harimaze print, meaning it was printed on a single sheet of paper containing as many as four other prints, which were intended to be cut up and viewed separately.
