Photo Flashback: Selections from the Permanent Collection

This exhibition displays the best of the photographs acquired during 1974. Subjects range from humor and social comment to architectural design. Cecil Beaton's famous photograph of Marilyn Monroe is featured. Included is documentary photography recording social conditions and life styles by Walker vans, Paul Strand, Tony Ray-Jones, Leonard Freed and Richard Cross; early platinotypes by Frederick Evans; and examples of humor, experimentalism and formalism, by Erwitt, Savage and Bruguierre. Other artists represented are Bea Nettles, Richard Matthews, John Schulze and David Wing.
