Archive Label date unknown: The fox is capable of becoming a frightening creature. This diptych shows a white fox, dressed in the courtly raiment of a woman, snarling as it apears in a black cloud. Lightning and rain fill the background as two kabuki actors with yellow umbrellas stand or kneel in the foreground. The white color of the fox suggest that it is more than 500 years old. At this great age, it is capable of transforming itself into anything it chooses, and has numerous supernatural powers.
