Exhibition Label: "Windmills to Workshops: Lawrence and the Visual Arts," Jul-2004, Kate Meyer Earl Iversen, a member of the KU faculty since 1974, presents moments in regional life with a narrative component that is suggested but not fully explained. In this way he records human actions and affairs in Kansas towns without encumbering this vision with the unfixed notion of “Kansas life.” Iversen’s earlier residences in Chicago and Boston have influenced his fascination with smaller rural communities and their activities.
