Exhibition Label: "Constructions of Place: Architecture in Photography," Jan-1991, Erin Barnett A champion of modern artists in the United States and an avid photographer, Stieglitz was interested in using photography to depict his physical and emotional surroundings. This work, for example, illustrates the tension between the newly constructed steel skyscrapers and the older brownstones.
