Exhibition Label: "Signs of Faith: Photographs from the Collection," Oct-2001, Elissa L.Anderson Kansas City-native Patricia DuBose Duncan photographed this marriage ceremony at a time when sacred traditions were being quickly secularized in the aftermath of the Vietnam War. The wedding couple purposely avoids any overt religious presence in their ceremony through the omission of traditional clothing, a religious officiator, and liturgical objects.
