Exhibition Label: “Holding Pattern: New Works at the Spencer Museum,” Sep-2014, Susan Earle and Cassandra Mesick This coffee pot, made in Germany circa 1903, is from the “Botticelli-Darmstadt” series, which was first exhibited internationally at the World’s Fair in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1904. The pattern that decorates the porcelain is often referred to as the Heart Leaf pattern or Standing Heart.
