Exhibition Label: "Sum of the Parts: Recent Works on Paper," Jun-2001, Stephen Goddard Kirchhefer is one of two artists in this exhibition to treat the theme of the seven deadly sins, which, Kirchhefer has noted, are much more interesting than β€œthe seven cardinal virtues.” A self-portrait appears in Pride, in which the artist shows his facility in a number of intaglio printmaking techniques, such as mezzotint and aquatint. Archive Label 2003 (version 1.1): Dan Kirchhefer received his M.F.A. from the University of Kansas in 1985. He is now associate professor of drawing, printmaking, and art history at Emporia State University, Emporia, Kansas.
