Exhibition Label: "Sum of the Parts: Recent Works on Paper," Jun-2001, Stephen Goddard Kirchhefer is one of two artists in this exhibition to treat the theme of the seven deadly sins, which, Kirchhefer has noted, are much more interesting than “the seven cardinal virtues.” A self-portrait appears in Pride, in which the artist shows his facility in a number of intaglio printmaking techniques, such as mezzotint and aquatint. Archive Label 2003 (version 1.1): Dan Kirchhefer received his M.F.A. from the University of Kansas in 1985. He is now associate professor of drawing, printmaking, and art history at Emporia State University, Emporia, Kansas.
