Archive Label date unknown: Because early glass manufacturers seldom marked their work, connoisseurs are forced to rely heavily on visual evaluation. Yet appearance can be deceiving, as this bellows bottle clearly points out. At first glance, the decorative loopings seen on the bottle might be associated with the Nailsea Glassworks, which was famous for its use of this technique. However, a closer examination reveals that bellows bottle e is made a flint glass. Since the Nailsea Glassworks is not known to have produced flint glass, it is unlikely that this piece was created there.
