Exhibition Label: "Roots and Journeys: Encountering Global Arts and Cultures," Jul-2011, Nancy Mahaney The yellow ochre used to color these men’s leggings and the beaded medallions both indicate a clan affiliation. Kiowa moccasins are designed with long fringe at the back which is intended to drag across the ground and erase the wearer’s trail.
