Revealing some of the diverse objects collected by Sallie Casey Thayer, this case includes ancient cuneiform tablets, glass door pulls, an early-modern French casket, Persian lusterware, a Staffordshire chimney ornament commemorating Jumbo the elephant, patriotic U.S. flasks and bottles decorated with domino designs, and Native American beadwork. Thayer sought out works for her collection that conveyed the history and variety of decorative art production in Europe, Asia, and the United States.
