Brosseau Center for Learning: Centenarians

Bernhard was known primarily for her nude studies, which expressed her interest in abstract shape, form, and dramatic lighting. In the 1940s, Bernhard became part of Group f/64, whose work is characterized by photographic clarity and precision. Bernhard was hailed by Ansel Adams as "the greatest photographer of the nude."
