Exhibition Label: "Minimal Additions," Jul-2014, Kate Meyer “I describe Study No. 14 as a technical exercise in pattern and timing. The work stemmed from the parameters in music/sound (e.g., pitch, tone, dynamics and timbre) and the concept of Expanded Cinema/Media. The computer was/is my tool of choice to create and disseminate/present ‘data.’ Hence, I see Study No. 14 as a piece of ‘data’ that can be used for archive, exhibition, and research.” -W.S. The digital experimental motion picture features three rectangular frames, each containing four parallel lines that peak and fall in different patterns and spaces.
