Bubash's series of song birds satisfies an interest in wondrous and sometimes freakish beasts that was a common theme to many early cabinets of curiosity. The intrigue of these images does not end with the simple rendering of unbelievable birds, for each etching is further elaborated with musical passages that assign a lyrical beauty to these uncommon creatures.
