Exhibition Label: "Geometric Abstractions: Quilts 1870 to 1990," Jun-2002, Samantha Schramm The Pineapple pattern is one of the most dynamic and unusual variations of the Log Cabin designs. Especially in this example, the variety of colors and textured fabrics creates an image of varying depth and movement. This quilt was made by piecing the logs onto a lining and backing the size of the block. The tops of the blocks were then seamed and the backs whip-stitched together.
