Exhibition Label: "Signs of Faith: Photographs from the Collection," Oct-2001, Elissa L.Anderson After leaving Berlin in the 1930s to escape Nazi racial intolerance, Palfi spent her career photographing racial discrimination and ethnographic types. Her dedication to fighting social injustice led her to document immigrants, the poor, and African-Americans in the United States and Mexico.
