Exhibition Label: "This Land," Mar-2014, Kate Meyer In Stetson’s California nocturne we encounter a profusion of calla lilies, exotic flowers often associated with the resurrection of Jesus and Easter décor. The Southern California cut flower industry dates to the late 19th century, but Stetson emphasizes the mystical rather than commercial value of these Pasadena blooms bathed in moonlight.
