Teaching Gallery Label: “Changing the World: Images of Revolution,” Feb-2009, Kate Meyer Rivera depicts the Mexican hero Emiliano Zapata (1879-1919), a key figure from the Mexican Revolution of 1910 who advocated that the land be redistributed to the people. Exhibition Label: “Selecciones: Mexican Art from the Collection,” Nov-2005, Kate Meyer Along with David Siqueiros and Jose Clemente Orozco, Rivera was one of the driving forces of the Mexican mural movement. Rivera depicts the Mexican hero Emiliano Zapata, a key figure from the Mexican Revolution who advocated that the land be redistributed to the people.
